Hidden Object Games with Vampires

A Scene from Vermillion Watch: In Blood

If you’re a fan of vampires and want to play a HOPA game with vampires in it, you’re in luck. There are a lot of games to choose from. In some you play a vampire. In others, a vampire hunter. In one game you can play the famous Dracula. In another, you meet some famous literary characters. Unless a game is only available on Steam, I’ve included the link to Big Fish Games. But if you prefer to buy your games at Steam, check there too.

HOPAs and HOGs with Vampires

The Vampire Legends Series

There are three games in the Vampire Legends series. So far, I’ve only played The True Story of Kisilova, the first game in the series. The other games are on my to-play list, once I work through my current game backlog. The True Story of Kisilova is based on the first documented case of vampirism and takes place in 18th century Europe. Worried that the plague might be striking again, you’re called in to investigate what’s happening. Other games in the series are The Untold Story of Elizabeth Bathory and The Count of New Orleans.

Immortal Love: Kiss of the Night

If you want to play a vampire, you can do so in Kiss of the Night, which belongs to the Immortal Love series. I played the first game in the series (Letter From the Past) and enjoyed it, and I plan to play the rest of the series in the future. In Kiss of the Night, you and your beloved fall ill. A merchant sells you a potion that’s supposed to cure you. You share it with your love, and the next thing you know, you both wake up as vampires. Oops. Worse, the vampire master kidnaps your beloved, and you find yourself in the middle of a war between vampires and vampire hunters.

Dark Romance: Vampire in Love

The Dark Romance series has been around for a while. Vampire in Love is the first game in the series, and it does feature a romance (not all the games do, despite the series title). Emily loves Enron, but Enron has a dark secret (hmm, wonder what that could be?). Just as he’s about to tell Emily, she’s abducted. I played this one and enjoyed the story and the game. Despite being released in 2014, it still looks and plays great, though some of the puzzles can be a bit convoluted. I’ve gone on to play more games in the series – a good sign!

Dracula’s Legacy

In Dracula’s Legacy, you play a woman who has to rescue her fiancé (a pretty common storyline in HOPAs). I played this one and enjoyed it. Isabella, the heroine, is haunted by terrifying dreams and her fiancé is kidnapped while they’re trying to figure out what these dreams are all about.

Vermillion Watch: In Blood

In the Vermillion Watch series, you belong to a secret organization that protects the world from evil. It takes place in Victorian England, and you meet some famous literary characters (for example, Dr. Jekyll from Jekyll and Hyde). In Blood is the fourth game in the series and involves hunting down vampires. I usually enjoy games by Eipix Entertainment, and I’ve played all the Vermillion Watches except the latest. I do find the storylines in the series a bit convoluted and unbelievable, but hey, that’s par for the course when it comes to HOPAs. The graphics, hidden object scenes, and puzzles are top notch. You can’t go wrong with In Blood, or the entire series.

Myths of the World: Black Rose

Every game in the Myths of the World series deals with a well-known myth or mythical creature. In Black Rose, you play a vampire hunter who must figure out which passengers on a river cruise down the Mississippi are vampires. I played and enjoyed Black Rose, and can recommend it and the other games in the series. Once again, Eipix Entertainment delivers.

Vampire & Monsters

I haven’t played this one, but I have played a few other games by Crisp App Studios. The studio develops HOGs, so this is a pure hidden object game. In their other games, I found that finding the hidden objects can be challenging because the HOG scenes were sometimes a bit muddy in appearance (the graphics were low resolution or not very sharp). However, Vampire & Monsters was released in 2019 and has received good reviews, so it might not have the same problem. Despite the challenge, I’ve enjoyed the Crisp App games I’ve played. If you’re in the mood for a pure HOG with a vampire, check this one out. It’s only available at Steam.

Dracula: Love Kills

I’ve played quite a few HOGs and HOPAs. After a while, they all start to blend together, but this one stands out in my memory, even though I played it in 2016, according to Steam. It’s longer than most HOPAs and has an interesting story. You play Dracula and team up with the famous vampire hunter Van Helsing to stop the Queen of Vampires from taking over the world. If you’re a Dracula fan, you’ll definitely want to check this one out.

Hidden Mysteries: Vampire Secrets

The Hidden Mysteries series started out as a pure hidden object series, but the later games are HOPAs. Vampire Secrets is the fifth game in the series. I haven’t played it, but I have played Buckingham Palace, an earlier game in the series, and it was a pure HOG. Vampire Secrets is a HOPA. In the game, you play a woman who goes to Savannah, Georgia on vacation and through visions, she sees that there are evil forces among the citizens. You have to figure out what’s going on.

More Games, but Lower Ratings

Here are a couple of other games that feature vampires, but they have low ratings on Big Fish Games. That doesn’t mean they’re no good. I’ve sometimes picked up games on sale that don’t have great ratings, and I’ve really enjoyed them. I’d suggest playing the demo before buying.

The Vampire Saga Series

There are three games in the Vampire Saga series: Pandora’s Box, Welcome to Hell Lock, and Breakout. Pandora’s Box was released in 2009 and Breakout in 2012, so this is an old series. Try before you buy.

A Vampire Tale

This looks like a pure HOG in which you play Caroline, who is trying to solve the mystery of her father’s disappearance. Her search leads her to Transylvania and a vampire.

Conclusion

If you like vampires, there are quite a few HOPAs and HOGs to choose from. Remember that if you buy from Big Fish Games, you can play a demo first. For older games (pre-2014) or those with lower ratings, trying them before you buy is a good idea.

Know of any vampire games that aren’t in this post? Leave a comment and let me know.

  3. Someone please help me find a hidden object mobile vampire game, I’ve looked everywhere but I haven’t been able to find it, the intro cutscene was our protagonist (a male vampire with black medium lenght hair) proposing to his girlfriend, then immediately, the girl gets kidnapped and the protagonist is locked in a dungeon which you have to escape, then I remember a few other things that happened in the game like when the guy went outside his skin would start cracking because of the sun and we would have to use some sort of makeup powder to cover it up, I think there was also an antique store, we also had to fix some gears to open a gate and find a machete between some bushes

PS: I thought it could be Dark Romance: Vampire in Love, but I checked and it wasn’t, it’s pretty similar tho lol

    1. I don’t play mobile games and I don’t recall playing the game you’ve described on the PC, but hopefully someone else will recognize the game.

  4. I am looking everywhere for a find the objects wit vampires video game. HELP!! I remmember the game was about a mystery and you had to find out where te vmpire was hiding. ( It was a woman vampire ) You could collect objects and use them to opne doors etc.. The opening scene was somenting like that: you wehe at a foresty like place with a policeman and his car, his car was open and you get a hook, rope and more thing that you use to open a big door made my metal.. Oter scenes from te game take place at a woode dock, in a police station, achurch etc.. Things unlike for the game were that in some of te corners of the game play there was an EYE BUTTON that when you tap on, the screen gets like red and you were able to see who the vampires were among the real people. You have to talk to character to fing out where is she hiding. It was under the church. I dont remmenmer much, de game is MOBILE and FREE and the picture was a of a vampire lady with hed head tilted to the side. I played it around 6y ago and now i cand find it. Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. I don’t play mobile games, so I don’t know what game you’re looking for. But maybe a visitor to the site in the future will be able to help and will comment. Good luck finding the game.

  5. I’m trying to find a game I used to play when I was younger. I don’t remember the title, but I know it was a vampire romance, in a point and click adventure style. I remember in the beginning you are in a cabin, and have to set up a protective sigil infront of the door with holy water and garlic(?), I know at some point you are walking through the woods, and I know you eventually come upon the vampires mansion in the woods, I don’t remember much other than that. It was on PC, more than likely a disc, the soundtrack I believe was moonlight sonata. I remember playing it around the time the first pitch perfect came out, so 2012 and back for the timeline, but definitely not a 90s game.

    1. I haven’t played any vampire point and click adventure games. Maybe someone will eventually come along who knows what game you’re talking about.

  6. I’ve been looking for a specific game for a long time, it’s of the point and click type, the protagonist is a vampire with red lips, very attractive black hair, I don’t remember much about it because I played it when I was very little with my sister, but I do remember certain parts of the game, I remember that almost at the beginning you found the corpse of a man in a suit and you had to put together a torn bill to use it in a game of hitting the mole but instead of guys they were little monsters, in another part of the game you used a puppy to find an address, in another you went to a mansion and a very scary girl received you and the last thing I remember is a level where we were in a butcher shop and behind a dark alley, I don’t remember much more and I don’t remember the name of the game or the company, but I desperately want to find it, I hope someone can tell me what game it is and where to get it

    1. I don’t know the game, but since it’s an adventure game (point and click), you might want to search for adventure game forums or adventure game Facebook groups, and ask in there. Someone might recognize the game. Good luck finding it!
